Women empowerment is dear to the heart of Hon. Samia Nkrumah. She has therefore taken it upon herself to provide income generating activities for women and as a result, she has put together a mechanism to roll-out a micro credit scheme and provided a seed money of Gh¢30,000.00 to Quick Financial Service Company Ltd to roll-out the scheme. However, whiles waiting for the start of the scheme the Hon. MP is mobilizing women in Jomoro into groups and provide them with separate income generating support so that they could participate by contributing into the Micro-Credit Scheme when formally launched. One of such pre-credit schemes have taken the MP to three communities namely, Mpaesem, Enzemetianu and Tikobo No. 2 where she has provided four (4) room set of canopies, fifty (50) plastic chairs and tables for each of these communities women group at a cost of Gh¢2,700.00 each. In all, she has spent a whopping GH¢8,100.00 of her own personal resources on the project. The canopies and chairs will be rented out and the proceed goes to the women group. Many more communities are slated to benefit from different income generating activities.
